Hey family and friends,
This change went by so fast. It’s crazy. Elder Aguilera and I
are still together in San Antonio. But Elder Carcamo finished his mission so
Elder Lythgoe is going to get his new companion today (those are the elders
that live with me in my pention, also the ZLS).
Thanks Renée and Joe for taking good care of the bikes. You
guys are awesome. Awesome that you guys are doing exercises together. I expect Joe
to be super yoked when I get back jaja.
Not sure if any of you have written me a letter but the mail
is on strike. It kind of sucks cause we have all been without letters or
packages for a long time.
Things are going well here in S.A. we just had a baptism
yesterday, Felipe. Felipe was a reference we received right after President
Barreiros put a goal of one baptism per companionship, every month. What a
miracle that reference was, because Elder Aguilera and I didn't have any
investigators ready to be baptized in Agosto. What a testimony builder of
fasting and praying, because right after we did a fast and had been praying for
a few days we received Felipe as a reference. Actually, he was the only
reference we received the entire change! This shows 2 things: One- The great
people of Chile aren’t too accustomed to giving references yet. Two- References
usually make better investigators and are more likely to get baptized. I think
the numbers are something like 1 in 3 references gets baptized and 1 in 100
contacts gets baptized. So my invitation for all of you is to think of friends
that need the gospel and send the missionaries to bring it to them. I know that
if all the members of the church did that, the work would progress a lot
faster. I love you all. Chao
Paz y amor,

9 MIL
**I save all my coins of 10 pesos (about 2
cents) and today for lunch we counted them and we had 9 mil pesos. That is about
18 bucks. We then taped them in rolls of a thousand pesos and bought a huge
lunch. #poorpeople #missionarylife
